Elk Grove Bass is a local Sacramento area club reserved for 25 teams.  You may sign up at the ramp or e-mail me for information.  We fish various waters around the valley in a club atmosphere.  At the weigh in we ask questions as how the various teams caught or did not catch fish.  Everybody has a chance to express their day’s events to all club members and guests, to learn and teach.  We promote a learning environment, we promote friendship.  Our members come from various backgrounds, and we have various degrees of fishermen too, from beginners to seasoned anglers.  We strive to teach and learn. 

We fish the waters of the Delta as far up as Lake Oroville.  The lakes are picked each year by the members in a blind draw out of a hat.  Our regular season is January through October.  We have some of the best paybacks around and a portion of our tournament fees goes into our "Jackpot Round" and "Awards" pot and our POUNDER POTS!  This is where we award members who participate in our events at the yearend Awards and Jackpot Round.  The more events you attend the better your chances.  The Pounder Pots are payed when a MEMBER weighs in a 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10+ "pounder". There are 5 individual pots for the five weights (6 thru 10+).  These pounder pots roll from tournament to tournament and year to year.  You must join to be able to claim a POUNDER POT.  We are a non-profit organization.  During the year we keep team and individual stats and the leaders of the five "Award" categories each get a cash award at the end of the year.  The five categories are "Total Points" (our Anglers of the Year), "Most Pounds", "Most Fish", "Biggest Fish" and "Best Average" (that’s your average over your best 4 tournaments).  Each "Award" gets 10% of the balance ($500 cap for Points Leaders and a $200 cap for the other 4 awards) and the other 50% or more (depending on the caps) of the balance goes into the "Jackpot Round".  In November we hold our "Jackpot Round" for members who qualify by attendance, not by being the best or the "big stick" if you will.   The winners and the second place team split on a 70/30 ratio the rest of the cash!  Come join us for some fun and friendship! 

You may fish as a non-member for ONE tournament to try out the club.  Try us in January, join by February and all you stats and your attendance at the January event will be counted towards our year-end Cash Awards and our Jackpot Round requirements. Remember the sooner you join the sooner you acquire the opportunity to establish stats towards yearend cash awards.  We compete side by side with camaraderie. We are a diverse group who gather for a common purpose.  We promote the health of the fish with catch and release.  We handle the fish with care and return the species to their natural environment so others can experience the same.  We continue to show others at the boat ramp the correct way to use public and private facilities, the expedient procedures of launching and landing watercraft, the prompt use and departure of the landing docks and ramps and we show respect that each individual water deserves.

We contribute to the surrounding communities of the waters we fish by visiting retailers and purchasing products and services.  We demonstrate to the communities we visit that a small congregation of outsiders can visit and use their resources with respect.  And one of the most important results of joining a bass club, you experience mother nature in all of the splendor and seriousness she can muster on a regular basis with others that you know and share the experience with.  You learn to adapt to the environment and blend with the weather, you learn by others what works and what does not.  You learn that we all are human and that jubilation and humbleness run hand in hand.  You learn that we are all equals and on any given day you may or may not catch fish.  Experience, equipment and determination always plays a part but on any given day anybody with any degree of each can reign on top, anybody!
