3/24/2010 - I want to thank everyone for showing up so early at our last event at Camanche. As some of you know Joe was hurtin after recently having surgery and unfortunatley Danny couldn't pick up the slack so we waited out on the water for over 10 minutes. Ha Ha!!! Only kidding Danny!
First of all, congratulations to all new members! You are are all great amatuer fisherman with great personalities and we are happy to have you in the club. With that being said I wanted to bring to your attention some of the success the new anglers are having in the club and what that means to the seasoned EG Bassers.
The first tournament at Lake Amador...new members Wes and Meredith Roberson claimed the victory. The second tournament at Lake Oroville....new members Tao Her and Paul Mctaggart claimed the victory. The third tournament at Lake Camanche.....new members Mike and Glen nuzum claimed the victory. I'm sure at this point you're thinking..Wow!!! How can that be? I believe there is nothing odd about this. These teams are excited to be a part of this club and want to prove themselves. The one common denominator I have found with these teams is that they spend as much time as they can out on the water honing their skills and finding fish. Afterall, most of us can agree that experience is the key to being succesful on tournament day and these teams make it a point to prefish as much as possible. The standings reflect that we have aquired a group of talented new members in the club and we need to adjust accordingly. Let's bring back that fire we had when we fished our first bass tournament to the Delta and show these guys how we do it. Ha Ha!!!
Looking forward to seeing all of you at the Delta. We should find a good bite with pre and post spawn fish. Take care!

2/4/2010 - Looking for Darter Heads or Drop Shot weights at a great price?
Ron Robinson, member of Elk Grove Basss, hand pours his own Drop Shot weights and Darter Heads and is offering smokin deals on these items. You can purchase them from him at the launch ramp on tournament day or just give him a call to place your order. Ron can be reached at (916) 645-6094 or you can email him at ronrobinson1956@yahoo.com.

1/22/2010 - Let's welcome two new members to the club!.....
Team - Andy Ta and Phu
Andy's (on the left) favorite ways to catch em is flippin and throwing swimbaits. Phu (on the right) also likes to flip and throw topwater. By the looks of these fish we might have to watch out for these guys. They'll be starting the season with us at Lake Oroville.

Welcome Andy and Phu! We look forward to seeing you at Oroville! Remember to bring your membership fees!
1/14/2010 - Last year was my first year with Elk Grove Bass. It was also my first year of tournament bass fishing for that matter and I had a great time and met a lot of good people. I must admit… I made a lot of mistakes but I definitely learned from them. After all, isn’t that what fishing is about!? …..Taking a little from each experience on the water and applying them on your next trip so you can catch more fish!? Anyways, overall I felt I had a decent year ending up 3rd place in the points race. Oh yeah.....has anyone seen a blue, 16ft Chrystler boat with a 40hp Evinrude? I want my old boat back!!! I fished better out of that boat than out of my 21ft, 235hp, Champion I bought back in July! Oh well! Hope I figure it out soon!
The '09 season has come to a close and I think we all can agree that it was tough to get the quality bites. In regards to our regular season and bigger fish.... the club only saw 3 fish in the 5 lb range and 1 fish in the 6 lb range come to the scales. I hope we get plenty of rain this winter as I believe it will help produce better numbers of quality fish.
At this point I want to welcome the new members of Elk Grove Bass for the 2010 season. I have included photos to this post to help familiarize you with the new members.
Team - Mike and Glen Nuzum
Mike and Glen are brothers and live here in Sacramento. I met Mike a few years ago when I was working in the Mortgage Business and was pleased to find he was an avid bass fisherman. After a little communication back and forth, Mike decided Elk Grove Bass was a good fit for him and his brother.

Team – Wes and Meredith Roberson
Wes and Meredith are married and live in Woodland. I met Wes through a co-worker of mine and was also pleased to find he was an avid bass fisherman. Wes is primarily a power fisherman and loves to throw swim baits and Jigs.
WesRoberson Meredith Roberson
Team – Tao Her and Paul Mctaggart
Tao is an avid bass fisherman and this will be his first year of competitive fishing. Tao loves to throw top water year round and his favorite lure is 3:16 wake bait. Paul is the reel mechanic at Fisherman’s Warehouse and he is best at flippin and throwing swim baits.

Team - Mong Lee and Chao Vang
This will also be the first year fishing competitively for Mong and Chao. Mong likes to finesse fish and he loves to throw sencos.
Mong Lee Chao Vang
Wes Roberson will not be fishing with his wife Meredith at the first tournament. He will be fishing with his long time friend Jay. Wes knows he is ineligble for the pounder pots at Lake Amador as he is fishing with a non-member.
1/14/2010 - There has been a change...Wes will be fishing with his wife and will be eligble for the pounder pots as long as he continues to fish with the club through the 3 month probation period.
We are very excited when new members join the club so when you see these new members at the launch ramp at Amador please welcome them. If we retained all members from 2009 then it looks as though we will have approx 17 boats for the 2010 season. I look forward to seeing all of you there at the launch ramp at Amador.
Also, I just wanted to mention the importance of being on time at the tournaments. On occasion we fish lakes where other clubs are holding tournaments on the same day. If members are running late then this holds us back from launching giving the other clubs first crack at fishing locations. Our goal, as always, is to launch at safe light before other clubs or circuits if possible. You can’t go wrong if you plan to be at the launch ramp 1 hour before sunrise. If you’re not sure when the best time to show up at the ramp...... ask other members in the club what time they expect to be there.
Best of luck to all!!!
